Step 1 - Get in touch
Once you have browsed our website for inspiration,
you have two choices:
the first is to book one of our pre-arranged independent travel packages by train or car,
the second option is let us know your needs and your major interests in a Italy or Europe holiday by using our
request a tailor-made holiday form.
You can give us as much or as little detail as you like about the things that you want to see and places you want to go.
Our packages are “land-only”
...they do not include airfare. We no longer sell air tickets, because most of the people who come to us wish to shop around for airfare, or use frequent flyer points.
About your flight arrangements
Typically, the fly dates should be in place before booking hotels, transfers, guides, trains, etc.
So we will want to know if you have already arranged your flights or know when and where you will fly in and out of Europe.
We no longer sell air tickets. However, we need to coordinate our land travel plan with your own flight arrangements. In particular, we can help you decide where to fly in and out of Europe.
Also, it’s important that you know about your flight options before you make a final choice of a land travel package or before you give us a budget.
The airfare may be more — or less — than you anticipated, which can certainly affect what budget you have remaining for the land trip in Italy.
So when you first determine the kind of trip you want, and where you will fly in and out of Europe, we recommend that you check some of the major airfare websites, such as Orbitz, to get an idea of that cost.
Step 2 - Receive your itinerary
Based on the information that you have given us about your time frame,
budget and interests, we will create a custom-made itinerary for your Italy or Europe holiday.
Complete list of recommended itineraries
On our web-site you can find the trips we do most... the plans that work well and get requested a lot.
You are not restricted to what you see here, since we can make certain changes, such as how much time you spend in each location and what services are included.
You can also do some mixing of these plans. Be sure to note what is included in each of these recommended packages.
The best way to start planning your trip is to look at where you wish to go in Italy and Europe, how much time you will spend at each location, and what pre-arranged services you want us to provide.
What’s included in our pre-arranged tours
Each of the recommended itineraries in our list includes hotels and essential transportation,
usually trains (sometimes a fly) between the cities or car rental, in the price shown.
Some packages also include local transfers, popular sightseeing tours such as to the Vatican Museums, private guides, or cooking classes.
If it isn't shown in the package description, it isn't included in the price, but it can probably be added at extra cost.
Please be sure to tell us everything you want included in our price quote for your trip.
Step 3 - Get a Quote
Together with your chosen package tour or with our suggested custom itinerary,
we will provide our best package price we can for a total set of hotels and services.
About our Quote
All our Quote includes all compensation for us, and there are no separate fees for our time and we'll do provide a payment schedule.
Step 4 - Confirm your trip
Once you are happy with all the details, we will confirm the final itinerary for your perfect Europe holiday and book your accommodation and transport.
We will also book any ‘extras’ that you would like us to arrange for you.
About hotels
We make preliminary inquiries, such as checking hotel availability for the time you require.
Then we will either confirm that we can supply one of our packages for your dates, or give you a quote if you have requested additional services to modify a package.
Sometimes, if your trip is coming up very soon or you’re going at an especially peak travel time, we need to address the hotel situation right away, early in the planning process.
We may propose to block hotel space for you, just to be sure that it is still available when the planning and authorization process has been completed.
Timing is often critical in booking lodging in popular Europe.
Voucher delivery
All travel documents are sent to customers electronically as PDF documents attached in an email.
If you arrive to Rome, Italy, you can also collect hard copies of the travel documents on arrival, either from the driver of the airport transfer or at the hotel, upon request.
You may also request to have the documents mailed to you by first class post. There is a small additional fee for this service. In accordance with mail order regulations, documents must be sent to the billing address of the credit card holder, not to the address(es) of the passenger(s), unless they are one and the same.
Please note that Globe Trotter Travel cannot accept responsibility for documents misplaced or lost by postal services. We therefore recommend that all documents be sent to you by Registered Post or Courier Service to your home address, though there is an extra cost for this.
Step 5 - Enjoy your trip in Italy or in Europe!
While on your journey, help is never out of reach. There is always a staff member on call 24/7 to handle any unforeseen situations,
and we do our best to respond to emails and voicemail as soon as possible during our regular office hours.
We also provide a temporary mobile phone with selected self-drive tours.
